A years waste for a normal house hold would be around 40grams. That's not exactly a lot, but ofcourse the waste is more toxic than coal powered stations. With suitable storage facilities I fail to see a problem with nuclear power to be honest.

I totally agree with you. I really hate Nuclear power. Lots of people try to say that its clean energy but they don't think about the Nuclear waste and how bad it is for our health. And I'm also very concerned about the safety of these power plant. I mean what if there is a failure. Should we take that level of risk.

Whatever measures that they are taking, nuclear power plant project should not exist in the first place. Just imagine what are we supposed to do with the radioactive waste generated in years to come.

I am certainly opposed to nuclear power, particularly because no one has a real plan for disposing of (read:storing) the waste. But also because humans are humans and we make mistakes, even in the construction of nuclear power plants. The effects of those mistakes can be catastrophic.

But, on the other hand, does anyone really trust Greenpeace to be an accurate reporter on the conditions at a nuclear power plant? I don't. I like some of what Greenpeace does, but I also think they are a little nutty and a prone to lying to make their point. Or at least exaggeration. Like Michael Moore -- I love the guy, but he's 10% conspiracy theorist, and that unfortunately throws a could over much of what he does.
