If we can try to create the same groundswell of excitement about this that bubbled up around Kennedy's challenge to get a man on the moon, then maybe we can get somewhere. $5 gas and general fear of the Middle East, while not good things, have a silver lining in that they create the right atmosphere for Gore's challenge.
